QUARTER LIFE CRISIS

Immagine
Forget about mid life crisis. The quarter life crisis is the real thing and  I seem to be having it since the last year and a half, if not more. The quarter life crisis it's a period of change, somewhere in your mid twenties, when you have a bit of a flap over where your life is at, where it's going and wtf are you going to do within the next years. You feel disconnected from life and insicure about what steps to take next. You aren't sure what comes next, everything seems so overwhelming and pressure begins to hit you if you think at all the things you are supposed to do by 30. CRISIS. Yesterday I turned 26. At this age my parents had already 2 kids and a house. CRISIS. Our lives as a twenty something in this day and age is changing from the way our parents experienced it and I don't know if any other generation realises this. I feel like the majority of us is flitting between minimum wage jobs, trying to travel and having babies and a house. What a crazy...

ZEIN Herbal Tea - Review

Immagine
Hello lovelies!  Today I'm going to write something I would never thought to review on this blog, simply because I never believed in all those "miracle" teas that claim to make you lose pounds and pounds just by drinking it. Because that's not reality. A month ago I got in touch with ZEIN, a romanian brand which sells this natural herbal tea which claims to regulate metabolism, reduce appetite and detoxify your body. They kindly sent me a package of their tea in order to try it and see what I think about it.  First of all the tea comes in a 100gr package and in loose form: you simply have to let it in infusion for 5 minutes in boiling water.  It is a complete natural tea which contains chamomile flowers, fenel seed, viola flowers, rose and balm petals and rhubarb leaves. Smell and taste are really pleasant and subtle. I usually had a cup in the morning and one in the evening, as indicated on the instructions, before the meal. I must admit I wasn...

9 Lies that beauty industry is telling you

Hello gorgeous people!  Today I wanted to write about something that not only bothers me, but something I've been a "victim" of for a long long time before starting to do my own research and educate myself. I'm talking about some of the lies that beauty industry constantly tells us. It’s no secret that most cosmetic companies rely on a combination of hope and blatant exploitation of other women’s insecurities to sell their products. Here I just summarized the most frequent ones. 1) YOU CAN AGE REWIND Unless you drink some kind of magical potion, you can't age rewind. Let's face it.  Collagen loss, swollenness, fine lines are just part of the natural aging process to which we are all subjected. We can't stop it by using serums, creams and other miracle products. Of course a good skincare and makeup can help, but will not make you go from 50 to 20. The only real things you can do to slow down the aging process and make it more acceptable a...

The Power of Makeup

Today I wanted to write a post a little bit different and longer than usual. A post which is inspired by a video created by NikkieTutorials on Youtube and which has gone viral, reaching over 37 Mln views. In the  video Nikkie talks about how, lately, there's been a sort of makeup ashame, a misconception that make people think that girls put makeup on just because they want to hide their imperfections or because they feel insicure. After seeing that video, I felt so inspired by the whole concept she deals about and I decided to do an in-depth post about it.  What does makeup mean to me? How it makes me feel? How important it is in my day to day life? What impact does it have on me? Why people nowadays put such a shame on it? These are questions I realised I've never really asked myself. When I talk about makeup I usually tend to focus on the practical side of it: which products are better, what kind of makeup can I create for a certain occasion, wh...

A guide to smart online shopping

Immagine
I must admit that online shopping is one of my guilty pleasures. Altough I don't tend to do it very often because hey, being an adult requires responsability (sigh!), wether if I'm looking for something specific or I just fancy browsing around, online websites are a good way to find a lot of amazing items at lower prices.  With time I learned to recognize scam websites and fake deals, search and compare specific items, use apps for getting the best price range possible and find real bargains.  I heard a lot of people, especially among my friends, who do not like online shopping because, in their opinion, "you never know what you will get". Although this could occur sometimes, I thought that it would be useful to many of you getting to know my tips&tricks on how to shop online smartly, avoiding as far as possible to get into disappointments.  So here are my main rules I always make sure to follow when shopping online: 1) DO YOUR RESEARCH When shopping...

Detox your wardrobe

As autumn is approaching, colder months call for a change of season in our wardrobes.  We have to say goodbye to bikinis, floaty dresses and sandals and welcome boots, cozy knits and jackets.  Autumn is my favourite season fashion-wise. I feel more confident in my body, I can experiment more with layers and textures and unleash my creativity.  That's why when colder weather knocks, I'm more than happy to open :)  Here are the steps I take (and recommend) in order to renew your wardrobe in an efficient way.   1) CREATE THE ATMOSPHERE Cleaning out the closet requires time. Take a day off without friends, boyfriend and appointments in order to have time to  think about every item. Put on some music background and start. Take advantage of the daylight to really look at your clothes and spot any defects, rips, spots or unsewings that wouldn't be noticeable if you'd be doing this in an artificial lighting.  2) CREATE PILES As ...
