Violet makeup look

As we are already half way through spring season, I thought it was about time to do a makeup which involved some colour in it, just to spice things up! My MERMAID MAKEUP LOOK  was definetely my most colourful look ever, but of course a little dramatic to wear on a day to day basis.  The look I'm posting today involves colour in a more subtle and wearable way, which feels more comfortable to wear, even during the day if you fancy. I really hope you guys like it, let me know in the comments :)  Kisses, Antonia. My top 5 spring lip products

Immagine
Hello beautiful people! It's been a while since my last post..and I'm sorry for being absent for that long.  Here I am again!  Today I'm coming with a short post that hopefully will give you some inspiration if you are looking for some perfect spring colours which are funny enough for this season but not too daring. These 5 lip products are my go-to products nowadays because they are playful (especially the glossy formulas) and they have just the right amount of colour needed for this warmer season in order for me to feel comfortable. I don't usually choose very bright colours because I don't think they suit me, but these ones are what I feel appropriate for me and my makeup style. I usually wear them with a very natural and dewy complexion, with just mascara and highlighter to illuminate the skin, but of course they can easily be worn with more intense makeup looks.       The YSL gloss is very hydrating, pigmented and long lasting...

Mermaid makeup look

Hello my lovelies!  Today I decided to come to your rescue and bring you away from this gloomy and grey weather to more colored and playful meanders.  Although I usually tend to opt for neutral and simple colours, today I felt I was in desperate need of colour and since I think that unicorns are waaay too hyped by now, why not give some credit to the magical and etheral inhabitants of the sea? Mermaids! I played with colours and this is the look I end up with. I  focused on blending really well the colours in order to not have harsh lines and I must say I really enjoy how the look turned out.  Sometimes I feel the need to step out of my comfort zone and dare with colours I would usually discard.  P.S.: The fish tail doesn't show in the picture but I have it on, I swear :D PRODUCTS I'VE USED: Foundation - Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in 1C1 cool bone Eyebrows - Essence superlast 24h waterproof pencil in nr.10 + Essence...

9 Lies that beauty industry is telling you

Immagine
Hello gorgeous people!  Today I wanted to write about something that not only bothers me, but something I've been a "victim" of for a long long time before starting to do my own research and educate myself. I'm talking about some of the lies that beauty industry constantly tells us. It’s no secret that most cosmetic companies rely on a combination of hope and blatant exploitation of other women’s insecurities to sell their products. Here I just summarized the most frequent ones. 1) YOU CAN AGE REWIND Unless you drink some kind of magical potion, you can't age rewind. Let's face it.  Collagen loss, swollenness, fine lines are just part of the natural aging process to which we are all subjected. We can't stop it by using serums, creams and other miracle products. Of course a good skincare and makeup can help, but will not make you go from 50 to 20. The only real things you can do to slow down the aging process and make it more acceptable a...

CATRICE HD Liquid Coverage foundation+concelear REVIEW

Immagine
Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today I decided to review two products I've been testing for the last month or so and which have been hyped so much on the blogosphere. I'm talking about the CATRICE Hd Liquid Coverage foundation and the Liquid Camouflage high coverage concelear . Everyone was talking about the foundation in particular but when I saw that they had a concelear as well, I decided to try them both. First of all they are drugstore products, therefore they are really affordable. I bought both products in store and paid 8€ for the foundation and 3,50 or 4€ for the concelear. I tried to capture how the products looked on my skin and hopefully you can see how they show in pictures. Everyone on the internet was raving about this foundation, claiming that it had a very natural finish and a good durability. Let's see my thoughts on it.  THE FOUNDATION: 020 ROSE BEIGE Comes in a glass bottle with a pipette (which I find really simple to use and per...

Natural simple makeup look - Makeup Revolution palette

Immagine
Hello lovelies! Today, as I announced in the previous post, I come with the first look created featuring the MAKEUP REVOLUTION "Fortune favours the brave" palette.   As said in the review I did, this palette offers a lot of possibilities in terms of variety of makeup looks you can create, going from very natural to more dramatic ones. Today I created something very simple, perfect to wear during the day. I often tend to go for a subtle brown smoky eye because it's easy to do, I don't feel like "it's too much" for the day and it complements my eye colour.  I think that makeup doesn't always have to be dramatic and harsh to be beautiful. A subtle look which enhances my features is what I normally tend to prefer on a day to day basis. I hope you like this look, even if simpler than usual. The Power of Makeup

Immagine
Today I wanted to write a post a little bit different and longer than usual. A post which is inspired by a video created by NikkieTutorials on Youtube and which has gone viral, reaching over 37 Mln views. In the  video Nikkie talks about how, lately, there's been a sort of makeup ashame, a misconception that make people think that girls put makeup on just because they want to hide their imperfections or because they feel insicure. After seeing that video, I felt so inspired by the whole concept she deals about and I decided to do an in-depth post about it.  What does makeup mean to me? How it makes me feel? How important it is in my day to day life? What impact does it have on me? Why people nowadays put such a shame on it? These are questions I realised I've never really asked myself. When I talk about makeup I usually tend to focus on the practical side of it: which products are better, what kind of makeup can I create for a certain occasion, wh...

Makeup Look - Glitter holiday glam

Immagine
Hello gorgies! I don't know about you but I am crazy about the holidays! And since I am in a very Christmas mood since..hmmm..september (?!), I decided to create a makeup look that feels like holidays and which is perfect for the coming party season.  Of course it's a little bit more glammed up, with a touch of glitter on the eyes and a red lip, which can never miss on Christmas time.  What is your Christmas holiday kind of makeup? Mine always has a red lip, it's definetely a must have for me whenever I want to feel sophisticated and chic.  I really hope you enjoy this look and the many more to come! Makeup Look - Berry eyes and juicy lips

Immagine
Hello gorgies! How are you? I know, it's been a while and I am so sorry for the absence but it seems I can't organize my schedule properly..my bad :( But today I'm finally back with another makeup look in which I decided to dare a little bit with colours. The main focus is obviously on the eyes with this gorgeous red/berry colour (I actually used a lip pencil to achieve it!) which I think complements really well my green eyes, and then I kept the lips pretty simple but with a touch of "juicyness" by adding a lip gloss to make them look bigger. I hope you guys love it as much as I do! Makeup Look - Bronzy eyes

Immagine
Hello my lovelies!! It seems forever since I last wrote on the blog but now that Halloween is behind us and so is my Halloween series (let me know if you liked it!), I'm looking forward to creating new content for you guys.  Today I didn't have in mind a specific look, I just did what I felt like and used various products. I ended up with this kind of bronzy eye makeup and soft ombrè brown lips.  I really like how this turned out even though it seems I can't never figure out how to properly show the colours in the pictures. In reality they show much more vibrant..I was thinking about purchasing a ring light in order to achieve better quality photos, especially now that the weather is cloudy and dark. Have you guys tried it? Would you recommend investing in one? Let me know in the comments please, I'd be really glad if you could help me with some opinions. As always, you will find the products I've used at the end of this post. Hope you like it! ...

Makeup look - Autumn vibes

Immagine
Aproximately a week ago autumn has officially arrived, bringing beautiful weather, crispy mornings and amazing colours all around. Of course I couldn't resist but take part to the autumn magic atmosphere..and what else can better embody autumn than a bold dark lip?  I love wearing bold lips all year round because I think it suits my face and also because, if the eye makeup is simple, a bold lip could easily be worn as a daily makeup without feeling overdone. Whilst in the warmer months I tend to go for brighter colours, in the colder months my colour palette tends towards earthy tones like burgundy, browns, beiges, dark reds, etc. So, if you want to recreate a similar look, my advice is to go minimal on the eye makeup with just the mascara and let the focus be on the lips, otherwise you risk to have too much going on. In today's makeup I dared a little bit by using a dark blue mascara just to spice things up, but of course a black one is just perfect. Bare in mind that...

CHANEL Ombre d'Eau Eyeshadows - Review

Immagine
Today I'm coming with a review on a product that I keep searching for whenever I do my makeup, wheter it's on me or my clients.  Especially If I am needing a very quick and easy makeup look, but still luminous and long lasting (ok, when I can't be bothered doing my makeup..) undoubtedly I'm gonna reach out for these babies:  The CHANEL Ombre d'Eau Eyeshadows .  As the name suggests, they have a texture that is so light and silky that it resembles water!  The consistency is indeed watery and the product needs to be well shaken before use in order to mix the pigment and the water base. I actually own 3 of these eyeshadows but my obsession for them is clearly suggesting me to buy some more. They feel like nothing I have ever experienced with other similar products: other cream eyeshadows I've used generally have a creamy consistency, like butter or mousse. These ones instead are water!  What I love most about them is the ease of application: yo...
